Packers senior Faircloth wins Gatorade baseball honor for North Dakota
CHICAGO—West Fargo senior Jake Faircloth has been named Gatorade North Dakota Player of the year for baseball.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound shortstop has helped the defending Class A state champions to a 19-3 record this season heading into the state tournament. At the time of his selection, Faircloth was batting .634 with four triples, 29 RBIs and 24 runs for the Packers.
Former West Fargo shortstop Andy Young also won the award for the Packers in 2011-12.
