One presentation at Junkyard Brewing Company in Moorhead on May 7 raised enough money to exceed the $1,000 goal for the steel statue of Felix Battles.
FARGO – A 4-year-old and 15-year-old, both seriously injured in a triple-fatal crash near Hankinson, N.D., are showing signs of improving health, according to updates from family friends. Reeve Avila, 4, of Fargo, who lost his mother and 5-year-old sister in the Sunday, July 15, crash, has been in a medically-induced coma at Sanford Medical Center. He suffered fractures in his skull and in both legs, family friend Elena Vazquez said.
FARGO — For the first time, attendees of the Downtown Fargo Street Fair will be allowed to stroll down the sidewalk drinking alcohol, thanks to a law passed this year by city commissioners. So, does this mean the family friendly event will turn into a pub crawl? Fair organizers say no. "This is just five vendors along the boundaries. It's not one of those things where you get a mug and hit 20 stops, chug, then leave," said Melissa Rademacher, head of the Downtown Community Partnership (DCP), which puts on the fair that runs Thursday, July 19, through Saturday, July 21.
FARGO – A 4-year-old boy is in a coma following a triple-fatal crash over the weekend near Hankinson, N.D., that killed his mother, 5-year-old sister and a motorist in another vehicle.
VALLEY CITY, N.D.-- A Valley City man was pronounced dead at the scene following a rollover crash near Valley City around 8:09 p.m. Saturday, July 14, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Kim Foell, 67, of Valley City, was traveling westbound in a 2005 Dodge Ram on County 20, three miles west of Valley City. County 20 curves southwest at the intersection of County 17. Foell failed to negotiate the curve and drove off the north side of County 20. The pickup vaulted over County 17 and landed in a field, where it rolled over.
FARGO – Vicki Holtan has dedicated 40 years of her life to caring for the littlest of patients as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse. She’s spent countless hours comforting the families of babies born prematurely. Heather King still remembers how at ease Holtan made her feel when her son was in the NICU nine years ago.
FARGO--A Fargo woman known for her involvement in the Lutheran ministry died suddenly Saturday, July 7, of a pulmonary embolism while at a lake with her family. Rachel Coen-Tuff, 29, believed her calling was to work with children, youth and families. She served as the minister of faith formation at Faith + Journey Lutheran Church in West Fargo, where she worked primarily with the church’s youth population providing spiritual growth and direction.
